Amid all the abuse accusations in Hollywood lately, the recent entertainment headlines have been pretty grim. In response to several previously well-loved actors being outed as abusive monsters, one Twitter user called for followers to tweet who the “good guys” are.

The user was looking for Hollywood heroes, positive anecdotes or experiences with a celebrity, and generally anything that might let us common folk know that not all -Alisters are evil.

“If anyone has any nice allegations against a celebrity that would be great too. does a famous actor give good christmas presents. does lady comedian alwyays smoke people out( sic ), ” read the original tweet. Fellow tweeters took to social media to answer, and it turns out there are quite a lot of incredibly kind celebrities, too. With thousands of responses, we’ve sifted through to find ten the best. Here are our pickings for the kindest, nicest, and most compassionate celebrities in Hollywood:

Robin Williams

The late Robin Williams was apparently one of the funniest and nicest guys in tinsel township. Upon his pas, many celebrities paid respect to the late actor by telling tales of his kind soul and generous spirit. One Twitter user posted his own narrative of how Williams saved a homeless person who was being harassed.

Keanu Reeves

Keanu Reeves may have been “The One” in The Matrix , but he’s a true team player in real life. He always makes sure the crew gets their fair pay when working on a cinema. One of the sad, unmentioned facts about the Hollywood abuse scandal is that as -Alisters lose their reputation and the projects they had been attached to, many wonderful and talented crew members have lost their jobs as well.
Reeves, however reportedly takes pay cuts to ensure his crews are well paid.

Emma Watson

Emma Watson has long been hailed as a compassionate reformer. Not only did she become a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador in 2014, but she regularly campaigns for the HeForShe movement. Emma has also shown kindness on a much smaller scale. One Twitter user writes how a school friend received a personal visit from the actress after writing a poem about Emma for class. How cool is that?

Danny DiVito and Rhea Perlman

The Hollywood acting pair first fulfilled route back in 1971, and have a reputation of being one of the kindest couples in Hollywood. DiVito is well-known for being a big tipper, while even fellow celebrity Mara Wilson get in on the twitter praise by revealing how the couple helped her out during a tough family illness.

Sarah Silverman

The comedian may be better know for her sassy comebacks and witty comedy quips, but Sarah Silverman is as kind as they come. She apparently gave free tickets to a transgres fan to see her show who couldn’t afford to attend.

Tom Hiddleston

The British actor has a loyal online following, and there were multiple tweets praising the star’s kindness and compassion. He’s such a believer in being compassionate, he’s even posted YouTube videos on the subject! While he may play villainous Loki in the Thor franchise, he’s a true sweetheart in real life. Here’s one fan’s story of how, after accidentally spilling coffee on her, Hiddleston apologized profusely and bought her a new cup of joe.

Gloria Estefan

The Cuban-American songstress has always had an upbeat attitude. She’s best known for her catchy Latin rhythms, but did you know she also has her own foundation, which has donated over$ 3 million to charities? Estafan loves her fans, too. One tweeted that the vocalist responded to her fan letter as a kid, and then personally replied on Twitter when the fan thanked her as an adult.

Michelle Pfeifer

On the define of Stardust , Pfeiffer presented a nurturing side of herself when she offered parenting advice to one Twitter respondent. She may have played an evil witch in the film, but off screen she was all smiles and love for the man’s newborn son.

Steve Buscemi

When we think of celebrities, we usually think of people who hire all sorts of help from cooks, maids, and personal assistants. Surely none of them could be bothered to give out their own Halloween candy. As it turns out, Steve Buscemi does! Apparently he and Elvis Costello get dressed up every year and hand out treats together in Brooklyn, NY.

Chris Martin

Chris Marin of Coldplay might be the ultimate nice guy. While many celebrities visit sick children in the hospital, they usually use their visits for publicity. Not Chris Martin! The musician allegedly visits children’s hospitals in every township his band plays in while on tour, and never tells anyone about it. The only reason fans have found out is from social media posts, often from the visited children and teens themselves.

It may be a depressing time in Hollywood, but, as always, we need to look for the helpers. There are still plenty of decent folk left in tinsel township, many of whom go above and beyond in their daily lives to demonstrate compassion. So remember, if you can’t do anything else, let these celebrities be a source of inspiration and simply be kind. It’s important to spread the love out there. We all know this world could use some right now!
